Chipping Sodbury Craft Fayre

I have not had much time to blog recently a I have been very busy preparing for the craft fayre, but all the hard work has paid off! Had a fantastic time today, and was really pleased with how my stall looked - and made lots of sales! It's great to meet people and get feedback about your work, and a huge morale booster when you get so many lovely comments!
There were lots of lovely stalls there, and it's so nice to see other people's work.
I have booked to have another stall at this venue later in the year, so will advertise it nearer the time. Hopefully it will be as successful as today!

Wonderful Wonderwool.

What a fantastic weekend! The stalls were fantastic, with a huge amount of choice. Spent far too much money, but came back with loads of ideas and lots of goodies!

I was rather taken with the idea of spinning my own yarn, so bought a drop spindle and some merino tops to have a go!These were my purchases from the show.I found a book on spinning in my vast collection of books, and after a spot of reading, took the plunge, and had a go!

I was quite impressed with my first attempt, and with a bit of practice I am sure it will get easier.

I have included a photo of my first yarn! Any hints and tips for improvement gratefully received!
I really enjoyed making this yarn, so much so that I have now booked myself onto a course in July to learn to spin with a spinning wheel!

This lovely lady was also at the show! I had a fantastic time, and feel really inspired. I will definitely be going again next year!

Wonderwool Wales

Really looking forward to this weekend as I am off to visit Wonderwool Wales at the Royal Welsh Showground, Builth Wales. I have never been to this event before, but the website makes it look like it will be a fantastic weekend!

There is a huge list of exhibitors, so I will have to remember my cheque book!
If anyone else visits this event I would love to know what you think.

Busy Sewing New Bags!

I found some fantastic "apple" print fabric in shades of yellow, green and a pinky/red. I decided it would make great bags, as is a slightly heavier weight cotton canvas fabric. From the leftover bits of fabric I am now making some matching purses to go with the bags, and when complete I will be adding these to my Folksy shop.
I loved making these bags, and of course, a girl can never have too many bags!

My Work in the Projeto Gallery

I was really pleased to be invited to display my work in the Projeto Gallery, Silsden, West Yorkshire. Jill, who runs the gallery, asked to have some of my bags on a sale or return basis, and 5 of them are now on display in the shop window!

Hopefully his will generate more interest in my work, and compliment the arts and crafts on display in Jill's gallery.

These are some of the bags I have sent to Jill to be displayed in the gallery.

It is very nice to have such interest in my work, and lovely to know it is on display in such a wonderful gallery.

One sock knitted and one to go! I have had great fun knitting socks recently. I found this amazing pattern for knitting socks from the toe up and it works really well! The instructions (in the link below) are really clear and they are a lot easier to knit then top down patterns, and there is no kitchener stitch needed to complete the socks.

I would love to know how you get on if you give the pattern a try.
